I sense that some of you may be unhappy or shall I say "insecure" whenever I post a comment which is once in a blue moon.If some of you are not happy about probably my, success,determination,and achievements in my drumming career, than I am really not mad, however sad for you.

I have been contributing so much over the years to the art of drumming conducting clinics and masterclasses not only in S'pore and SE-Asia but now internationally. I don't want to brag but can anyone of you tell me how many drummers who has ever done over 200 clinics around the region? I have tried many times to push the boundaries and even invited many professional drummers to join me however, it was rather disappointing as not many want to go and take a further step for the challenge. i don't blame them as we all have our journey.

Since I started conducting clinics and decided to stop the club circuit thing 7 years ago, there were alot of uncalled and dumb rumours about me which were totally untrue. I even heared comments that some said I am playing "Rojak" in my clinics. If i was playing rojak then the S'pore Arts Council or S'pore International Foundation and Singapore International Airlines won't dare to sponsor me for major international festivals and represent S'pore.

Please, please my friends, find out your facts first before making immature judgements about me.There were so many false remarks again about me that I was "stuck up" and arrogant. Firstly, ask people whom know me well how I behave. DO NOT mistake my confidence and seriousness in my art as my arrogance.

Some of you who made those comments I know who you are so why not if you have the guts please come and join me and play with me together in my clinic in my upcoming International Music Festival called the Mela Festival? Oh btw..... this is the largest music festival and one of the Biggest in Europe. Lets see who will give you comments if you screw up in Europe!

I want to clear another remark which I have been hearing all this while for so many years. Yes, I have been doing clinics but for God sake and all the other higher spirituals beings sake. Who says I can't play with a group? I assume just because I don't play with bands here in S'pore means I can't play in a group?Does anyone of you know I have worked with International performing artiste and I have 5 groups around the region? I bet not cause you were too caught up with your mumbo jumbo false remarks u heard.

Lat year I was invited again to represent S'pore for the World of Performing Arts festival and I conducted 8 clinics and 4 band performances. I played with international artiste from Italy,France,UK India and Australia as a GROUP.I REPEAT A GROUP!

Please lah once again, we are all here for a cause and drumming, friendship and comraderie is what I want to see more here but unfortunately its totally different from what I see in my frequent travels. You know why I don't go into this kinda of forum much? Thats coz I am disappointed to open it and see some drummers giving negative remarks about another drummer.

My question before you make any remark is....

1) how good are you?

2) have you been in the real world performing with international and some of the top regional artiste?

3) When you started playing drums for the first time did you sound like Vinnie or Steve Smith?

4) before you comment a clinician is not clear or too complex in his / her performance then I suggest you go back and practice and try not be ignorant or arrogant to the fact that you have to still learn more.

i read someone mentioned I hope he (me) "live up to my claims" well then go to my website www.kennyhoganumi.com and look at my testimonials and what I have done. Oh btw I assume majority of you are not real hard core drummers coz u won't be saying some of this comments. Grow UP!

I have a great interest in psychology as much as my drumming. I am not psychologist but I have a few friends who are. With my curiosity I had asked him why people behaved this way. Their instant answer was insecurity and jealousy. Are some of you feeling that now? You know who you are don't mislead your mind.

Oh let me leave you another thought for your mind for some of the negative and low self- esteemed people which is a statement given to me by my dearest professor. "Those Who Can't Do Criticize"! Those Who Can Don't!

I am serious about those who negatively criticized me in joining me for any of my clinics and I will promise you, I will give you part of the stage to set up your drums so we can cover metric modulations,complex odd-time, polyrhythmic concepts and many more. Or why not join me in my latest clinic which I was invited by National Institute of Education. I will be performing with Professor Larry Hilarian Francis for music educators. Please come and see what "ROJAK" I am doing. I guess you will walk off coz it may be too complex and end up you will say even Professor Larry is not clear! U want to know who Prof Larry is check Google and hear the rojak friend of mine and what he did.

Honestly this is the first time I am writing something like this but years of me keeping quiet are over. So c'mon lets not talk and talk becoz actiion speaks louder than words!

DO NOT MISINTERPRET. THIS IS NOT A HATE MAIL. I AM JUST REFERRING SPECIFICALLY TO THOSE WHO MAKE FALSE JUDGEMENTS NOT ONLY ABOUT MYSELF AND MY WORK WHICH I HAVE BEEN HEARING FOR YEARS, BUT ON OTHERS WHO ARE ALSO MAKING SO MUCH CONTRIBUTIONS FOR SOME OF YOU IMBECILES!

Hi guys,

I believe something must have happened previously for Kenny to react in this way. I personally had heard good and bad things about him previously, and believe me some of the things are not that nice.

Why did he react in this way over some comments in this forum? Just imagine a volcano with a big cork in its opening to prevent it from erupting. What happens when you remove the cork? I think I don't need to explain. Kenny is in this situation.

I believe for a forum to remain healthy, the participants must remain focus and be objective to the purpose of its existence. If it is used out of its objective, then this forum will not benefit anyone at all.

Let's stay focus in using this forum, that is to exchange ideas and knowledge on drums and drumming. Not for talking about "check that girl who attended the drum meetup", "let's boycott the drum festival" etc. It does waste people's time in reading such post!

If you are serious about your art, stay focus!

Let's make this a healthy forum!

A lot of times, people just get too caught up with their ego, jealousy and what not and forgotten how to be nice to others. It happens everywhere.

YO!!! For what is worth although I dunno Kenny personally....he is one kick arse drummer!! I've seen him play ages ago (10-15yrs back maybe) and man....I remember how amazed I was the entire time...I would be honoured to take some lessons from him myself....in fact...I'll probably go call him now! Haha...

Anyway....I personally have heard nasty remarks made about him...and all those comments he brought up was really familiar...it was totally uncalled for and if I was him...I would've exploded long ago...haha...gotta give it to him for holding back all this while...

blurred, i don't believe RoRk need to have any "learning experience" from this. What RoRk posted was really decent and the way drummerright or kenny hogan's reply was extremely defensive and repulsive remarks.

I was ticked off by what he said and boasting about working with so and so and invited to play when and where is really UNCALLED FOR. We local musicians are not idiots and don't need your "resume briefing" to let us know who you are. Worst still, you being a professional and this is how you carry yourself?

Dear friends, I have no hatred for even my greatest jealous rivals whom I still know who they are and still at this day talk to them. If some of you were me in this position hearing all this untrue nasty remarks for years about me would, you be able to not people know the truth?

Reason why I kept quiet is coz I know its normal for many humans to behave this way when another is going higher or successful. Don't forget there will bound to be comments from those few or many insecure wants who don't wish to go further or can't or simply too lazy to achieve and give make million excuses.

Don't hate me for what I am now. PLEASE ask the few people whom are dear and close to me how I struggled and you will never believe what I went through. If you want to know look at the senior drummers of the early 80's and many of them can tell you how I struggled. If u speak to the drummers of the 90's many know me as just a clinician...thats all.

I said many times to drummers before that I wished this forum can be positive without negative issues on who is good or who is bad. We are all still learning so never think we are are always great. And for those pple who gave me bad comments, I don't why you still say all this bad remarks about me which I know is still going on. What have I done wrong to you? Did I stole your rice bowl ( anyway I don't think I have been getting much rice bowls here in S'pore), or accused you and tarnished your name like what you are telling people or the youngsters about me? I am already immune but if some of you really have a problem...to be a gentleman lets talk and settle what unhappiness you have about me in front of my face and I will surely talk in a diplomatic way. Then again how many pple will dare talk face to face?

This may hurt and surprised you but I am also referring to those (most certainly not ALL) professional drummers who are also responsible for these years or remarks and rumours about me and this happened only when I startyed clinics 7 yrs ago.

Speaking of clinics please lah, my friend Kevin Corey is trying hard to do clinics and I have always encouraged him. Tolong lah Brothers, he ccan't do clinic is it. Did anyone saw how I did my first clinic in 98' I was shivering and couldn't sleep before that night.

I may be wrong but I was told by drummeright earlier that my first post was pulled down. What can I say man and how many of you involved? Its ok carry on lah some thigs are meant to be with certain kind of folks.

In closing l hope we all can realize there are many journeys for us to choose and mine is still going ahead and further and exposing myself definitely not in S'pore anymore and I have many reasons why I have been doing alot of work outside S'pore.

I recently read a post someone said being a S'porean musician very cialat. I don't think so and I told many professionals this. If I can do what I am doing overseas as local drummer what makes you think any other local drummer or bass, guitarist can't do?Put it this way,its just whether we WANT OR NOT. We are the captains of our ship!

If hope some of you do not have any issues as I wish to be on the forum but I have to very be honest & cannot contribute my comments everyday as I have my performance travels and my various agents at my neck everyday reg my work.

Oh btw, I have linked my website with some world famous drummers whom are my dear friends and which I will be collaborating in a drum duet late this year or early 2008. but unfortunately in KL or other regions and not in S'pore as always got budget problem lah so my agents also cialat and headache. These drummers in my link are some of the most humblest and wonderful human beings I know now!
