Kawai US6 LE- How much should I pay for it?

Good day Senior ppl,
I was looking for piano in the central area when I came across a Kawai US6 LE. It is 20 yr old, in good original condition and sounds beautifully. Was told it has a height of 131 cm and was imported from Japan. Shop quoted me $5400. I wanted to get a Yamaha U3 in the beginning but now I am so obsessed with Kawai... it sounds so so sweet! Hence, I will like to get some opinions from all of you to offer a reasonable counter offer. Thank you!

Can someone who knows anything about this series help me please? Want to offer the seller soon but want it to be reasonable. I am so anxious about getting it that I am worried that I am over paying. Thank you!

hey dude, to be honest, if u're getting a piano a 2nd hand 20 yrs old at this price might be a little ex.

U can try around 5k? But i also need to know what grade is it?

Some notes to take note of,

Says for eg an average lifespan of a piano is about 40-60 yrs, at this age the piano can be use for only 20 more yrs.

2nd hand pianos at this age are normally "re-con" u might not be getting what u are actually paying for, some originals part might have been changed to something else and not to it's original parts.

Just some tips, when buying a piano, do not only look at the sounding of the piano initially, also watch out for the warranty and how reliable is the shop? Whats the point of 20yrs of warranty if when it cant even survive 5?

Think about it, don't buy a piano on impulse. =) All the best for ur future piano playing

P.S: If ur place has a lift landing, you may use it to ask for further discount =)

Hi Reeves,
Thank you for your advice. I was told that the piano is grade A(if that is what you meant), comes with a warranty card from Japan to only to prove that is it imported. The interior of the piano looks clean and original. Decided to rent the piano from the shop for a few months to try it out. Will only buy over if it is suitable. Thank you once again.

Yup sure no problem. One more thing to help, the best way to see if the piano is in tip top condition is to engaged a professional technician over to assess the piano. =) Get an experience one though best is those who has worked in a few piano companies before so they'll know more about the relevant parts. There are some things within a piano that even the most experience pianist cant tell, so for interior better get a technician to asses it. =)

Enjoy your piano and all the best

Hi, I am eyeing a Kawai US63H. Where can I find a pro technician to assist me to give the piano a once over? Any idea what are their charges?
