maybe some comments or so? been playing since last year november or so.. was messing around with this progression yesterday... thanks alot!! :)

This was recorded with a Squier Strat... the different tracks had different pickups used... all clean... run through a Kustom 12W amp... and into the comp's sound card from the amp... so the sound is pretty bad... sorry for that...

Nothing technically challenging...no shred or sweeping or any of that... gotta practise practise practise to get there!! =(

I tried to experiment abit with arpeggios and stuff... also substituting Cmaj arpeggios over a Am chord... as well as a Dm over a Fmaj7 chord... dunno whether im doing it right or not...

The last track is basically mostly just pentatonic runs...

The progression starts off with Am Fmaj7 G7 Cmaj7-E7
then breaks into a Am and Fmaj7
after which it changes into Cmaj7 and Dmin7
then it enters G7 - Cmaj7
Finally E7 ... leading back into the first set of chords.

Nice place to use the harmonic minor scale over the E7...

Might sound very boring cuz I didn't put much thought into it... was just hoping to record down any "flashes of brilliance" that may occur when i'm not thinking, lol...

Thanks alot for any who listened! I appreciate any comments at all... I'm not really a good player so slam me if you will... Gotta take criticism to improve anyways =P

the first one, i'm not sure if you're doing the arps right but they sound nice. your phrasing's fine, i like your choice of notes.

the second one sounds very similar to the first one. except there's more space in it. yeah you're right it gets boring.. oh yeah you could try playing around with your dynamics, some licks are like dengdengdengdeng all the way when they could be DENGdengDENGDENG haha you know

pretty good effort keep up the good work! :D

thanks

thanks alot!

to be honest... I didn't really "choose" the notes... unlike many guitar virtuosos who play specific notes over a specific chord to achieve an effect...

Yes, dynamics... thank you so much for bringing that up... I've never got to getting that down yet... specifically because there are so many other techniques to work on... so i suppose i shelved it first. But I shall work on it as soon as I can!

As for the arpeggios i'm using the common C shape arpeggios transposed down the fretboard... n the minor shape that looks like it, but slightly different due to the b3... maybe because I don't start on the root of the arpeggio but rather on the 3rd for Major triads and b3rd for Minor triads... I'm not very familiar with using arpgs yet... but i'll find out though...

thanks again for the comments! very much appreciated :)
