my school had "schoolapolooza" today and I played imagine by john lennon with quiet a few other guitarists. My mic wasnt working. although I wish it did, thena t the end I lost my place and played the wrong chords so noone heard me.

I was nervous playing infront of a couple hundred people for the 1st time, even though there were heaps on stage so i wasnt being focused on, but it was good to get out there and give it ago.

that is all :)

seriously.. sounds good... i remember the first time i played infront of ANYONE.. of course the first time was infront of like 400 people which is a FUCK load... and i cant say it's GOOD to start with a number THAT intimidating... but like... yeah... it just goes on from there, everything you do whether infront of 40000000 or 2 people is going exposure... mick thompson says it in METALHAMMER... trust him...

pretty much like my 1st gig, IN SCHOOL! the nice people will try to lie to you that they enjoyed your performance, the not so nice people will remembering you as the kid who screwed up.

my friends will tell me i did a good job tomorrow

they couldnt hear me, they dont know I stuffed up. noone knows becuase I couldnt be heard over the other kids with the mics next to their guitars.

ah well, i let my self down, but im proud of myself for giving it ago

hopefully next year I will be playing infront of the school in a band in AIS idol :p

cool man first gig:) hope u enjoyed it...the first time i giged was at paradigm last december haha

congratulations for completing your first gig!

think my first performance is in school doing Chinese pop songs with acoustic guitar, memorable :)

my first gig, there were only 10 people watching.

Way to go Jarrod! 8) do some slipknot next time round and pass me a ticket!

congratulations!!! look forward to bigger things to come... it feels good rite? doing it for the 1st time... errr...

Yup, I cant wait til I can play songs without errors so I can do it all again

My dad said this is the begining of my music career and when im famous he is gonna sell the video of it and make millions hahah

Way to go, man. Hope this is the start of more gigs for you.

At least your father's supportive. I have heard of people whose parents told them why the heck they bother (second-hand stories la, but i'm not surprised if they were true).

My first experience was playing in front of about 200+ pple at a musical rally in M'sia. At first was nervous too, then the funny thing is the lights at the audience goes off and the lights on the stage were pretty bright, so end up I couldn't see the audience. It was then that I heck care the audience and just played. I'm sure i made some mistakes as well, but it was a good experience.

But I aspire to play at the amphitheatre at the Esplanade. The bands that have played there were all pretty high standard,so if I'm able to perform there, I must be somewhere up there already  . I guess.

Hahahaha very true man!! My band went very wrong in our first gig too! But then our friends said that its was still not bad... So I guess they are just trying to console us or that the amplifiers were just too soft to be heard

pretty much the same for me..had my first gig at skool...i played in 2 bands for the gig, not that pressure performing with 2 bands infront of many of my friends. 1 of the bands i played in was totally last minute, they kick out their bassist, have 1 of their original guitarist 2 play the bass and told me 2 play of them as their gitarist. By that time it was already 3 days to the gig...had 2 practise a lot and finally performed for the gig without jamming with the band at all....that was my first gig n i will remember it till the end...

had my 1st gig in skool too...knocking on heaven's door...only me n the singer...shud hav used an acoustic guitar, but cudnt get 1 tt is plug-in-able,so borrowed a TGM strat copy 4 the auditions...tt was gd..pretty much perfect...
but at the actual event the band who owns th TGM said it's pickups were screeching,so borrowed a craftsman EG 950 from another fren...
on the actual day,a girl toying around with it n she toyed with the pickup selector and i 4got to change it back to position 1...so throughout the gig the sound was horrible..too treble...but everybody else says it's ok...

U guys sure are good enough to have gigs...

Sob... poor me... not yet start gigging... will try soon... hopefully...

hie..

Do come down to all my 8 gig on oct,nov and dec in esplanade,The Substation,East Coast and Sentosa....Gig with all my 6 bands...
