Dude, I think you're talking about palm mute + down-picking right? I mean, palm muting by itself isn't really tiring.

yes the ultimate down stroke palm mute practice is master of puppets by metallica, shit speed. once u get used to it u wont tire easily..altho i have seen fast guitarists (shredders) who are not good at downstrokes. Its funny..maciam owned.
