jazz application

haha isnt it in the beginning of this thread? its mainly in triplets with the beat of - 0 00 0 00 on preferably the ride cymbal. the bass could be on the third and sixth circle, snare and hi-hat(open&close) on second and fifth circle. hehe im not too sure too! but there are loads of ways to play it even in swing pattern so i say you should keep practicing this or save up for a good book that is around 20dollars, im sure thats not too much =)

haha yea this thread's only for jazz lovers! yup jazz is really hard to play, it involves technique and great grooves as well.

I've recieved your e-mail. Thanks a lot for sharing. :D But the problem lies with I dont understand drum notes and notations... I think I just stick with the stuff that you posted on this thread... I understand that though... Pretty layman... Maybe learning by ear helps in my case... hehe

hm.. was looking through the precious topics and i realised that there's several relating to shuffles, jazz and funk playing. quite a hot topic eh;.

hmmm apart from the playing, it is a must to listen to a lot of great artists though... like great guitar, piano, bass players and listen to how the drummer actually accompanies to their playing... it might drop in gd ideas for you to follow...

its very hard to do that. they're playing at a speed whereby you must be good to catch it. jazz could be a more profound way of playing haha. you have to do it fast and comprehend it.

yeah it's hard... hahaha... but it would be nice to listen for ideas then sing out what they play... then try to sing out what you want to play and play it at the same time... hahaha... at least that's what other jazz musicians do so yeah...
