I'm not the best when it comes to technical difficulties and the terminology but I'll try my best..
Recently I went jamming and I stepped on the cable jacked into my guitar. It yanked pretty hard and out popped the entire jack, severing the wire attached to it.
So today I went to Standard Value and Mike soldered the jack back in as well as changing the metal point upon request (the part where it touches the cable) since the old one is oxidized and posed future problems. I pointed out that the jack was very loose at time so instead of screwing those tiny screws he drilled big black long screws. To cut the long story short everything was fine and I tested it out at the shop. Plays normally.
Here's the funny part. When I got home, I jacked in my guitar through my FAB metal distortion and the amp. I turned on only to receive a barrage of never ending static even without my pedal in operation. Even with the guitar lined directly into my Marshall MG CDR15 amp it is still full of static. This never happened before I repaired my jack which was in place.
It has no problems with my amPLUG headphone amp so far, BUT it gives of this screeching noise whenever I turn up the volume to around 7. I don't turn it on that loud of course but it's funny as it never happened before I got it repaired.
My guess is that it could be my cables as there is some "jack grime" and slight scratches on it but before I head out again to buy those cables I hope anyone of you can relate to this problem and advise me on what to next. Hopefully you can relate to the events to help me rectify this problem.
Thanks and cheers.
