"It's time to zhng this guitar, buuut...."

Yep. Just look for the live and ground connection on the output jack. Connect your two poles on your normally open switch to them.

What you're effectively doing when you press the button is you 'close' it, putting your live directly to ground. This is the same effect as turning your volume knob all the way down, but much, much faster.

thanks!

i have just "theoretically" done this. i dont have the switch yet. so i attached 2 wires to the output jack. then closing them did kill the signal. so all i need next is a switch and decide where to punch the hole

i've finished my killswitch project. its quite a task, because i used a manual drill. its a tele custom so i dont need to drill the wood. just punch a hole in the pickguard. and im glad its over hehe. but at least i learned a few things doing it. and one is not to do it again!

anyway thanks for the tip guys!

here it is:

wouldnt do it again w/o proper tools hehe.

i just used a small drill bit on a manual hand drill, and a carving knife to make the hole bigger.

i might do it again but tonight im too tired to even think about it. it took me 30mins just to get the hole right

thanks! though its not flawless, i got a few scratches on the pickguard but its not that noticeable. but im quite happy with it :)
