Guys correct me if I'm wrong but the exchange rate now is rather low as compared to the last few months. From a high of 1.61 to 1.57 something now. I hope it doesn't rise again once you guys are gonna do the order.

So it's confirmed going thru only in august?

hmmz ... exchange rates fluctuate primarily based on a country's terms of trade basis with other countries.

if japan exports more , higher demand for domestic currency , increase in exchange rate.

if japan imports more , exports less , lower demand for domestic (yen) currency, fall in exchange rate.

pray hard japan dosent export more :D

Hi stars.. can i join in also? but before that... i juz wanna ask... do they have esp guitars? cos if they have.. i wanna import 2 guitars... :D

not listed on ishibashi site though, but PM me the models u want.. i ll foward a query to them. they should carry ESPs but it may not be listed on their site. so as long as it is a domestic japan model they should have. they are very big in japan.

so i only need to pass u the money somewhere on august right? when everything is confirmed?

yup :D defintely.

this is what ill do. i ll compile and collate all orders on august 1st . give and take 1 week for confirmation and summation. then i ll email ishibashi the orders , ask for discount on shipping and guitars

i will then post the prices here and prices converted to sing dollar and how much to deposit. prices would include GST. GST is payable upon collection of guitar.

u can either
1) meet up with me to pass me the $ (all meet up one place ?) then i issue you with signed reciepts for your order and provide you with my contact details.

2)i pass you my bank a/c no. , deposit the correct amount there and ill send u or meet with u to acknoledge and pass you the signed reciept .

once money is in , ill place the order.

once guitars are here . i will announce here on the thread and arrange a suitable time for everyone to pickup their guitars

Hi Benwen,

In actual fact, exchange rates are the lesser of worries versus shipping cost and GST.

A 1 cent move from a hypothetical USD/SGD rate of 1.65 to 1.64 or 1.66 works out to a variation of SGD 10 per every nominal value of USD 1,000.

Given that the Singapore dollar is a basket-weighted currency versus its major trade partners and is further controlled by MAS within a specific band, the flunctuations (in a 3-6 month period) are relatively minimal.

While you're at it, please give us some good stock investment tips. :)

btw, how much would an RGT-220H cost in sing dollars if they put there 168,000 yen?

to answer your question > yes . anything from ishibashi japan. but due to certain limitations e.g cost reasons . certain stuff might be cheaper to get from singapore. but to answer ur qn, anything so as long as it is listed in ishibashi japan and they are ok with shipping it over and you are ok with the shipping price

the RTG-220H, @ 168,000 yen + shipping and taxes would be ...

2936.7 SGD (maximum)
