Hey Soft-ies!

i would want to ask you guys if this is possible.

i would want to customize my J&D Les Paul, and i am not sure it the things i want on my Les Paul is possible.

the things i would want to install on my LP:

1)EMG Zakk Wylde Set [i knw this could be installed, but i want to knw if this pick-ups are "active" pick-ups and if it requires a 9V batt]

2)24 Frets (i knw this is weird,bt i saw a Epi Lp having 24 frets) [if possible and if any shop sells a 24 fret Lp neck]

3)Foyld Rose (would consider sending the guitar for the cavity) [If possible]

4)Make the neck profile thinner. [If possible]

5)Custom Paint-job

6)Getting rit of the brand and putting my name on the headstock.

can you please tell me the things that is possible and the things that is not possible.

and,

Could you guys tell me abt how much all this would cost?

To the TS: In all honesty, dont bother modding the J&D. The cost for routing all that crap will be more than a new guitar already.

Firstly putting a floyd rose on a Lespaul shaped guitar looks unnatural and ugly in my opinion. More importantly, a floyd rose routing MUST be set up very very well or in the long run will result in problems surfacing. Moreover the routing aint cheap.

The Fat neck of a Lespaul shaped guitar contributes to the uniqueness of a lespaul. People enjoy lespauls for the fat neck and the ability to wrap their whole hand around it snugly while playing. I would advise against this but if you really want to by all means go ahead. Jimmy Page did it.

For custom paint jobs the cost similarly wont be cheap plus it adds on based on how intricate you want your design to be. Also there is no guarantee that the painting will be perfect/even etc. Remember the work is being done by an individual who inevitably has flaws.

Go custom a Ran guitar to your spec. Probably under 5k.

Look at Journey's lead guitarist's guitar.
It's a Gibson Les Paul with FR..
Then u see whether nice or not.
Btw, no point getting a FR for me.
you need a LONG TIME to tune.
Just get the pedal.
Whammy Pedal. Tom Morello uses it.
