is there much difference if i use a guitar fuzz pedal for bass?

not many pedals that bassists use are specifically designed for the bass. some 'boutique' pedals are not specifically designed for any instrument in particular, and can be used for guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals.
what makes a pedal good for bass is the low end response. a good pedal would have full-frequency response. many don't, they just don't have components that are good enough to handle anything more than a guitar signal.
sometimes pedals can be modded so that they let more bass through. i think some bassists like to use TS9s or even DS1s with bass. it depends on the pedal and how it performs. if its not bassy enough it is still possible to find a way to compensate
