Is there a need to get a mixer?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Korg M50 Synth.

My current set up is as follows :

DAW---->Audio Kontrol 1---->Monitor speakers ( 2 x 1/4" jacks to AK1 outputs) , Yamaha KX61 (Midi Out KX / Midi In AK1).

I tried connecting my Korg M50 to the AK1 (L/mono from M50 via 1 x 1/4" jack to AK1) but can't seem to get my monitor speakers to sync with my M50 through the AK1.

I read the manual for the AK1 and apparently they said I had to connect a mixer to the AK1 only which I can then connect my M50 to the mixer which in return is linked to the AK1.

Just wanna check if getting a mixer would solve my problem? As my current set up is geared more towards home recording and I also want to enjoy the benefits of toying around with my M50 as well without having to unplug the 2 x 1/4" cables from the AK1 and connecting to my M50 as it's quite a hassle.

You shouldn't need another mixer. Just connect the OUTPUT of your M50 to the INPUTs of AK.

In your DAW, you need to enable the channels for AK INPUTs. Also need to enable MONITORING mode to ON.
