Is the Marshall Guv'Nor II worth it ?

I'm thinking of getting the Marshall Guv'Nor, however i've also been looking at the Danelectro Transparent Overdrive and the Joyo Crunch.
What do you guys think ? I've seen tons of reviews pointing to the Guv'Nor but i'd like some opinions.

Help would be very appreciated.

i own this pedal. it's a great OD unit, quite different from the rest of its ilk because it's more aggressive at its upper end of the drive range. it's often used by players to obtain that Brian May-type drive.

Can you adjust the amount of overdrive ? Like mild to aggressive ?

the overdrive levels are definitely adjustable.

however, since you mention AC/DC, it won't give you this tone. if this is your desire, you need a british-type drive or something emulating a a cranked up Marshall. the following are some suggestions:

*Wampler- Plextortion. IMO this is the best brit-type distortion in a pedal format but it's not cheap...
*Tonebone- Hot British. featuring a real tun=be in the circuitry also, not cheap...
*Joyo- Crunch distortion. very acceptable emulation, affordable as well
*Danelectro Cool Cat- Distortion. the most affordable here & an above average performance (i own this one...)

the rest of the forum members here will definitely have other suitable recommendations.

Owned a guv nor quite a while back, very tweakable pedal.
I highly recommend you spend lots of time meddling with it

If you want the Guv'Nor, try hunting for the original MK I version. It's loads better than the current GV-2.

Danelectro Cool cat TOD isn't the one you should be looking at if you want that marshall crunch, should be looking at the cool cat drive ^^
