hello people.any recommendations for the pork pie snares?
because i'm planning to get one at ranking but unsure about the quality of sound.
suggestions?

eh you mean they don't?but i saw couple of them last week.it supposed to be the neon acrylic version.hmmm.weird.maybe i was wrong.

Just before you rush down to check it out, shaneypants.

The acrylic snares in Ranking are PDPs. There are no PorkPie dealers in Singapore at present, the only countries in the region with PorkPie dealers are Thailand and Japan.

Check this out though, a fellow softie selling a PorkPie.

Quite a nice finish to it, requested pictures from him. Not too keen on a 10" though. PM me if you need more details about his lil' porkie.

By the way, drummeright, I'm not too sure about PorkPie snares. I've read pretty darn good reviews about them over the net, but of course best would that you try them out yourself. Why PorkPie though?

oh geez.my bad then.
Yeah i've read a lot of reviews about pork pies and most of them are satisfied with the quality of sound and plus the beauty of the acrylic snares.haha.
Oh yeah that maple snare. Not a big fan of size 10 though. Is his acrylic by the way?
Owwwh.That's pdp that i saw?
hahaha sorry shaney pants.hope you don't rush there straight after you read my post.

Maybe a PorkPie fanatic here and enlighten us on the quality of them Porkies and so on.

I'm not a fan of 10" either. 12"/13" ftw! Uh, it's maple. But I think you're on to something, you might wanna customise your own snare, part acrylic part maple. I think there prolly are prototypes or even similar snares out on sale somewhere.

Yup Ranking carries DW, PDP, Lazer and Carlos snares only. If someone ever brings in PorkPie, I'd very much imagine it to be Nigel.

Yeah. drummeright, you almost got me there. Haha. Nigel SHOULD stock some Pork Pies.

I was really close to clinching an awesome Pork Pie deal on Soft ($450!!!). =/ Too bad I couldn't raise the cash quick enough.

Anyone here with a pork pie? It would be great if someone could help with a sound sample.

Okay, 10 months dead. Can I revive this thread?
Cos I'm looking for a Pork Pie too... check many many many many online sites but unfortunately none could ship to Singapore.

So, after 10 months, TS or Shaneypants or anyone, any luck in finding one?

Girlpants:
Try dropping by Drum Resources and have a chat with Nigel. See if he can bring it in for you? I remember a couple of years back when he just started, I saw a pork pie in his shop.

ordering one.

i'm ordering a porkpie 13x6. 8 ply maple.
lead time is 3mths.

should be good for church. will give a review when it's in. fingers crossed!

I can confirm that ranking does not bring in porkie. I just spoke to the president of the company and yes there is no dealers as of yet and they're still thinking its not big of a market here in singapore yet.

Currently I am endorsed by pork pie and have gotten my kit. AND I ASSURE YOU, IT IS ONE OF THE BEST KIT I'VE EVER PLAYED ON! The snare really brings out the name and tells you (The person playing it) that it is worth to spend on a porkie. (I sound like i'm promoting them, but hey, that's why they endorsed me too)
