Is Jeff Beck considered a guitar legend?

To each his own.

To me a Legend is not just about influence or inspiration.

As for Beck, he is an inspiration.

jeff beck is an inspiration to me definitely. He's an inspiration to a lot of people out there too. I hear he was a great influence on Slash.

But the term "guitar legend" is passe! ;)

same goes for terms like "rocker", "guitarist", "lead guitarist", "rock star" etc.. in fact, when i hear someone say the word "guitar" i get goosebumps.

Too cheesy. And why is that so? because waaaay too many people are picking up that instrument with the wrong mentality, severely embarrassing themselves in the process.

My friends and i refer to it as the "instrument" or the "6 string" nowadays. (7 string or even 8 string where applicable).

And that's because saying the word "guitar" brings to mind images that i cannot begin to describe for fear of offending the musically impaired/disabled. Just an insight into my lonely world there! :D

if u define legend as someone who was at the forefront of a new style and inspired a lotta copycats, then it is a resounding NO, because no one else plays like him.

But if u define legend as someone who made jaws drop and heads spin, then yesssssssss

jeff beck is a god.

i'm not even much of a rock listener, but when i listen to beck play, he has tons of ideas in how he plays. full respect to him

OF COS HE IS.

Even his peers are full of respect for him. If you consider steve vai, satch, andy timmons as great, they cite jeff beck as their influence. He has a reputation of "the guitarists' guitarist". Try to find someone who can use the whammy like him. Although vai and co. has surely surpassed him in terms of technicalities, vai once said if he can have 1 guitar lesson from any player, it will be jeff beck. take a pic. If anyone says jeff beck sucks it means he is saying he's better than vai and co. Plus, beck isn't restricted by any genre. There was a time when beck and hendrix were competing "who did what first", including using feedbacks and things like that. Plus, his style and feel is very hard to be copied.

To me he is the best player who can get the most out of the least notes played.

I havent heard much of his stuff honestly speaketh to say he is a legend in my book.

I love the playing of his peers clapton and page though....these guys were the G3 back then in the days of our fathers' times.

to my dear sir jeff beck is a fantastic guitarist alot of younger guitarist are influenced by him such as joe bonamassa who is also a fantastic guitarist but to me my definition of a guitar legend is somebody that you can remember at least for 50 to 100 years after he died.Somebody like django, hendrix, srv otw.robert johnson, wes mongomery ,joe pass, randy rhodes.
So in conclusion lets see if we can still remember jeff beck 50 years later after he died I think we will:)
