Is it rude for a non-indian to mimic an indian accent?

Be careful what you say. If 2 men in black kick your door down and show you a shiny thing, wear sunglasses or you'll get flashed.

I don't think its rude, in fact I think we make ourselfs a laughing stock to them when we try in vain to imitate their authentically developed phonics.

that guy is the king sia....though offensive ahha...but i guess most ppl take his statements lightly la.

Whatsoever, It is totally unfair to imitate or mimicry one race's accents and manerism by other race. I would certainly feed bad if it happens. After all we are human beings with a same colour blood running in our bodies and share same 6 senses, what is the big fun in hurting other's feelings...

Movie actors do it for making money..fool us..do we have to do that ? we dont earn money by doing that nonsense...

So, Please do not do this to your fellow racials..where they may feel very hurt by heart even though they dont show it externally..

Peace

So is it unfair to imitate an american, british or australian accent? Kids do that all the time to act cool, so does that count too?

like u said, they do it to act cool, meaning they have no intention of mocking at them. Therefore i feel that its not offensive, but its bloody poseurish.

i guess at the end of the day it depends on how one intends it to be? sometimes i unconsciously switch back to a british accent when i am speaking with my london friends cos its easier for them. nothing rude in it what eh?

my indian friends tend to speak slower when they hang with us cos their accent can berather thick eh?

guys i`m indian too and i agree with you(quite rhyming ah??).but the point is certain races are more sensitive than the others and lack the ability to laugh at themselves.unfortunately we indians fit into that category.so .....next time when u want to imitate an indian accent say please.....may i ???
