Hi I'm kinda rotting in my office right now having nothing to do so I thought I'd do a little self intro here. I just turned 28 last week and am a self-professed amateur guitarist though I have played for a long long time already lol. I enjoy playing with people who specialises in all types of genre and I really appreciate some of the music and interaction I have had with on soft.com and in reality. Some of them would have to be andrewtheshredder, blahblah, satch, vaiyen etc All very talented people. Well I'd love to get to know more people who would like to do some simple music with me as a hobbyist. Hope to see your replies.

Me ah... anything will do one... as long as it's interesting to play.... something boring in my opinion will be metallica (no offense to metallica fans pls, it's just a matter of opinions reall) or consistent power chords/chords with no innovation.... lol yea it's what you really call "die die no improve one".... maybe we should do a collab some day ya?

neuro182, haha, he just apologised. maybe it's up to personal preference on what type of musics they like. some musics appeal to them, some don't. to me, metallica is okay. but i still prefer old school metallica. but it's all cool right.

everytime this type of conflicts come up. but it's comes to one conclusion. personal preference. so no point challenging other musicians with questions. defining words in the music way is rather complicated. innovative to different genre means different meaning.

just a thought. come to realise one thing. everytime i reply in a thread, it will go dead. AM I CURSED OR WHAT? haha. and i also haven't so up an intro about myself. haha.

I know, that is why we should never comment on a band negatively bec they are what they are for a reason. I mean I dislike people putting other bands down. That is me... I am not angry but rather insulted.

he already said no offence to metallica fans la. anyway seeing from his cover of erotomania id say he finds stuff like dream theater interesting. i too find metallica boring. esp in the solo department.

I dig Dream Theater too. Also into Avenge7x, L'Arc'ien & X-Japan...

Different bands got different specialty. Dream Theater & all those above mentioned bands are technically good & tight & musically innovative, but it gets kinda boring when they solo all the way for 1-2mins & I just get bored out of solos that are good but long, worst still lousy & long!!

Metallica imo provides good rhythmic riffs as well as a fine mix of solo & that is what contributed to their success!! I followed Metallica through their old school days till the modern Saint Anger album. I love them alot.

HA, just joking, coz these songs i cannot play at all la... Ha..

maybe we can start with you do an original backing track, from there we see how to improvise on it?

better this way, otherwise wil keep comparing our work against the original version, like that hor, quite demoralise one.
