i noe this is a noob question bt can someone explain to me wat is intonation? ive read some posts that talks abt intonation bt i dont understand hw it affects the playability of a guitar.

right, intonation is comprised of a couple of things lumped together i think. it affects a guitar's playability. intonation comprises of the "bow" of ur guitar neck, that is done by tweaking ur truss-rod either via the headstock or in some, removal of the neck, at the heel. in any case, bad intonation can lead to alot of stuff. eg. bad tuning, bad action, fret buzz, etc etc. u can find out more from www.projectguitar.com, under the tutorial section.

im thinking of sending my guitar to the shop so that they can do the intonation for me since i duno nuts abt it. i tink sth wrng wif my intonation coz i adjusted the saddles b4. anyone know how much davis charges? together wif chg of strings. or any other shops in the penin area?

intonation has nothing to do with action, Fruitwine.

Intonation is just how in tune your guitar is higher up the neck. Good intonation is essential for studio work... unless you never want to play about the 12th fret. And if you intonation is really bad... don't think about playing above the 7th or 9th fret.

a grg270. ilt bridge if im nt wrng... been reading bout intonation in the forums. then i rmb that i meddled wif the saddle positions the last time i chg strings. so i juz wana noe if my intonation is right.

Altering your action does affect ur intonation. Basically your intonation is most directly affected by the scale length/speaking length of the strings.
