what would you do if you have a friend who is better than you in what you're playing (may it be guitar drums, bass, whatever..) and worse part is, he or she says you can never match up to his or her standard even if you have practiced for very long already???

then just tell him, its not the skill that truly matters, its the heart... and u just lost urs condemning others... either that or u can ask him to off and break ur friendship... although the former is highly suggested

then ur fren is an ASS!
ur fren thinks he picked up the guitar first and started playing VAI??
don be discouraged to play...
practice hard everyday and find friends and ppl who are willing to teach you..
ive been in ur situation before..
though now u mite think wat they say is rite cause no matter how much ure practising ure stagnant..
just keep going..
u'll be surprised at ur progress..

this is my challenge to ur fren!

fenderrules, this sounds like u actually experienced it in real life...

wow that was fast..

yeah i did. i have a real friend who does that. and hes a better guitarist than me. plays by ear, good finger speed, good pitch, can be encouraging but most of the time gives destructive comments about my playing.

ive been rocking on the guitar for 2 years already and have a "okay okay" foundation already. i cant play scales for nuts though. but its true i rock with my heart. it doesnt really matter on my skill.

my alias: fullmetal guitarist

I've been thru that. It does help spur me to be better and now, its like, yeah. I dare to stand up to whatever the bugger says.

Anyway, Distorted_Soul, can you change your signature image to something smaller? Its very irritating and disrupting to see text spread out off the screen.
I've already pm-ed you abt it and nothing has been done.

i dunno man. when i first bought my electric guitar at davis after almost a year of playing acoustic, he said it was a waste of money since i could have gotten an acoustic and practiced more. now everytime i play acoustic he says my timing sucks and i play the acoustic like an electric.

to make things even worse, he told me i made a bad choice of choosing my guitar...

what the hell....

this kind of buggers think the world revolves round them lah... just dont bother and use that comment to fuel that fire in u... fenderrules, u into metal?

yes, i like bands like crossfade and stratovarius. i also want to be a soloist as well so that explains my second name: the fullmetal guitarist
