YES! I agree with alvinthedrummer.

As a musician, I started out with the UM1 and subsequently got the UM2 and the UM3X.

Just recently I had my UM3X re-shelled into a custom mould for about $300. So now I've got the great sound of the Westones and a custom fit monitor.

Monitors I also swear by for smaller gigs that I do here in Australia is the SCL3 or the E3c by Shure. Unfortunately Shure does not produce these any more. In terms of soundscape they sit somewhere between the UM2 and the UM3X.

I've also had the privilege of owning a pair of the SCL5s but i feel its no where as close to the sound of the UM3X.

If you're thinking of getting IEMs, my advice is to get ONE really good pair (usually for a VERY good PRICE $500++) and stick with that. Cause you'll really never go wrong that way. If you can afford the Customs, thats about all you'll really need.

Cheers and make your Ears happy!

mhm, i had 2 pairs of E3Cs previously, but i broke them. BOTH.

First one.. one side broke when my domestic helper put my school books ontop of them *FAIL*

next side broke when i dropped it on the road and stepped on it. heart pain.

next pair broke while drumming in church. stick caught the over ear loop and sent them flying against the drum shield.

GONE.
