Maple fretboards have maintenance issues? Get dirty easily? Is that what you mean?

Yep. But maple is still very good for that bright Rock n Roll tone.. Rosewood is a personal preference of mine lah.

Hahaha... nothing a little wipe with some solution won't cure. Just need to do that everytime you change the strings. Not much of a trouble at all.
