Ibanez Saber series guitars

Hi everyone,

Just checking because now I've got a fetish for these mahogany guitars. I know the rough price gauge for the SA series, but what about the S and SZ series?

Thanks in advance!

Whoa, quite expensive...

But I'm beginning to prefer the Sabers' more open tone to the rather sterile RGs.

Would it be cheaper if I ordered via, say, standard value?

haha i wouldnt noe, have to ask the pros here xD only places i have seen S series guitars are swee lee and on soft. i think the SA series are quite a lot cheaper.

why not the SA series?

To Subversion:

Actually I plan to use all three (SAs, SZs and Ss) because they all have different bridges and body thicknesses (more diversity) and that open tone.

My GSA is pretty much an SA so now an S and SZ are on my list...

Actually I dont have the money yet but I need to know the estimated price so I can save up accordingly...

So safe to assume they're around the $1K range?

Well, decided to take Sub's advice... To stick to the SA series, mainly because their light synchronized tremolos seem to never go out of tune, and yet give me good sustain.

Loving my GSA60 now :D

But the picture you posted, Sub... I thought the SA120s had satin finishes?

so far, have come across gloss finished units only. satin finish available for:

S320
SZ320

you might wanna consider the set neck SAS models as well...

the SA120 first appeared in 2004, made in korea but pickup mounting rings were never black (to date). if you bought it used, the previous owner might have swapped it.

SAS32 might be quite expensive... I'm still kinda young! Maybe if I get a good-paying job then there'll be a chance of getting the SAS32.

What might be icky about the SA to you, is the bridge is an Ibanez design - you can't just retrofit a better bridge in... e.g. Wilkinson or something.

Doubt I'll want to change the bridge anytime... Despite the tendency these kind of synchronized tremolos have to be hard to keep in tune, my GSA stays in tune perfectly, especially with the GHS Boomers. With the Ernie Ball slinkies, I have to re-tune every week or so, and even then is only a bit out of tune.
