Ibanez S470

Could be the most populous model ibanez sold in Singapore. (not counting entry level types)

The design is done up very well, good engineering too.

Heehee....my standpoint as someone who fixes elec guitar but don't play them.

depending on the year of production, i'd avoid the S470 with TRS vibrato. i'd get one with the current ZR bridge instead.

otherwise, scout for the discontinued S5XX series (Jap) with the Lo-Pro Edge. this 2005, the S5XX series are korean, thusfar, only a single representative is offered: S520 (List $1,280). refer to GEAR NEWS 2005 for a review 8)

I tried the S470 before, and the feeling is just great on that guitar.. You can also consider the JS100 too.. That's also a great guitar from Ibanez, and I believe should be in the same price range...

It costs about 430 us dollars(american musical supply) so it might be around 980Singapore dollars.
THe s520EX costs about 550 us dollars .

i dun tink so, e last time i saw e js100 was at list price 1400+

yes, the price isnt relaly that close to each other. and the feel too. i feel that the s is a more versatile guitar than the js. its more suited for more genres than the js. the js guitars seemed too suited towards the type of songs that satch plays, but ofcourse that y its his signature guit. but if ur into more metal or heavy rock, i think the s is better. i never really favoured js's...i think jems are more versatile too. but i prefer satch to vai :D heh. anyway, the s is a great guitar so long as u get one wifout the trs trem.

The online sweelee store is selling the s470Charcoal brown for 880SND. heard the black bare body is cheaper. Anyone knows how much?

plus the online price is usually higher right?

GET THE S!!!!

The S features the incredible ZR trem and it is one hell of an awesome trem... I think even though ppl complain abt it being heavy, it really works well and has a very smooth feel.

However, do take note, that if your trem malfunctions, you çan't retrofit any floyd into your guitar and you've got to order spare parts to replace the faulty ones... and its likely that no tech in Singapore would agree to setup/repair your trem coz there's so little info/experiecne abt it...

Cheerio!
