Hey guys,

I am interested in getting a Ibanez S series.... Just like to know where in SG can I actually buy one? only at Sweelee or are there other places?

Which country made should I be looking for as well?

Thanks ahead!

there are some @ Standard Value.

which particular model in particular? i wouldn't recommend any specific make, go with the one you fancy after trying & hearing them in action. if you do not wish for a dual-action, locking bridge of the S-series, do consider the SA series instead.

Oo... im sorry but im not very good with all these guitar's lingo.. but what is this dual-action, locking bridge...

Anyway im looking at S570...

Thanks!

dual-action: able to raise and drop pitch
locking bridge: not too abt it either lol

but there should still be some S series guitars at SV. can go check them out

Most of the current makes are in Korea or Indonesia for the regular models like the one you are interested in. Most of the prestige models are still made in Japan.

It is true that a good guitar is a good guitar but it's best to try em all to get a rough overall feel of the guitar (is the body and neck comfy?). the older S models are made in Japan. There are a few at Guitar Connection, 2nd hand. Do note that the newer models sport different trems so please try them both and come with your own conclusion.

the S570 features the ZR dual action locking bridge- locking means (regardless of the brand name), the bridge features a clamping block where the string is inserted into & locked shut using an allen wrench. this bridge requires much patience & learning & not recommended for players who have limited tolerance when it comes to mechanical technicalities.

my S1620 (pic) features the above-mentioned bridge & it's one of the smoothest in terms of feel.

cool.. thanks for your advices guys!
guess its still best to go down and try it out..
and i guess im not much of a mechanic guy... guess i better do more research lol..

i started out knowing nuts about a locking bridge- it's all about you; if you are willing to learn & embrace new stuff, it won't hurt ...
