Hi, I'm considering to get a versatile electric guitar to cover music ranging from heavy metal to classic rock. Came across the Ibanez RG321mh. Any thoughts on it? Pros, cons, I'm all ears.

Pros:

-Bridge: this one comes with a fixed bridge, so downtunes and alternate tunings are easy to do. Also hassle-free when changing strings
-Price: For the money, this is one of the better sounding guitars out there
-Playability: Of course, Ibanez's famed Wizard II neck ensures maximum speed and comfort whether shredding or chording

Cons:

-Default pickups: These are rather bland in tone and sound muddy, if you've got money, you might wanna change them
-Bridge: I know this sounds stupid, but the bridge also has its cons. It cannot move obviously, so if you're a fan of divebombs, forget this guitar
-Weight: This thing is heavy, being made from mahogany, so a good, wide and thickly padded strap is a must.

All in all i like this guitar, the playability especially wins it for me. A few mods (pickups, orange drop, pots etc) here and there and you can get a really versatile axe.

tho i dont own a rg321 but i do own a similiar model.. yea pretty much agree with ^^^ nothing bad about it.. great guitar for its priced.. and yea change of pickup should make it "full fledge and ready to go".. didnt really like my rg's stock pups but anyway it's something subjective so yes try it out to see if u dig it or not..
anwyway mahogany isnt that heavy!! my strat feels a shit lot lighter compared to my basswood ibanez!!

? That's interesting. If your strat is indeed made of mahogany. I assume you're referring to a Fender strat, those are mostly made out of alder. But then again alder is a heavy wood too, so i am still surprised.

That's a good honest Review Loldude333. Thanks! But what pick-ups do you recommend to accompany the tonal qualities of the guitar?

I don't mind the weight. It's how it sounds and plays is what I'm concerned about. Any alternatives to the RG321mh?

Depends on what tone you like. And your budget. Teslas are great value for money, DiMarzios are the market standard, Bill Lawrence or Suhr if you want something more boutique.

my RG321 is the most played guitar simply because i have it on standby all the time. if i have the urge to play, the RG321 would be the first i'd grab... of course, unless i want a single coil tone.
