all RG5XX models were made in Japan. for a well-maintained unit, look forward to pay about $700+/-...

it is somewhere around that line that sub has drawn. it also depends on whether a hardcase is added along in the deal etc etc.
RG550s are discontinued and sought after. the reissues arnt too bad at all though. the cloest thing you can get that is 550-ish brand new is rg2550 or the rg550 reissue.
it rarely pops up in the classifieds. if you have the desire to own one, fork out the dough

not aware it's a sought after unit. generally, there are keen buyers out there who would want to own a maple fretboard RG which is best manifested by the RG550. i sure regretted not buying one when i bought my first RG in 1991...
