eh seriously lar, keep your ibanez, dont lose a good guitar selling it away, take time to appreciate the tone lar... just like your strat... sometimes you cant just appreciate the tone immedietly...

u might want to do one of the following things first before parting with ur ibanez...

1) Adjust the pickup height. Some pickups are quite strong, and many people have tendencies to move it close to the strings to get high output. However placing it too close prevents the string from vibrating in an elliptical pattern. For me i had to adjust my Super Distortion near to about 4 or 5 mm away from the strings to get a good sound.

2) Change your pots to audio pots if you're using linear pots. I can't bear linear pots personally, though i can understand why some people prefer it. The dramatic jump in volume (u can hear 90% of the volume at 4, and then very slowly increasing in volume until 10) can be as irritating for you as it is to me, and it prevents u from dialling in volumes in between where the pickup can function optimally.

My personal preference here is using a volume at 6-7 for rhythm, and 10 for soloing; in between, sometimes i like to use volume 9-10 as the high output pickup doesn't start to overdrive the amp too much.

3) Change pickups. It would be a good time to trade your pickups for some other pickups and learn more about other pickups. At the end of the day, if u still find u hate the sound after changing many pickups, then it's time to let go of the guitar.

i changed my mind..i started learning some satch songs and this ibanez really gets me a great tone for this stuff..good feel too. :p
