ibanez or gibson?

yes its me again with a very commonly asked question: which guitar to choose? i currently have an rg2120x with duncans thrown in and im thinking of selling it off to get a 2nd hand lp studio..the problem is i like the feel of ibanez but i dont really like the sound..i like the sound of the lp but i dont really like the feel especially the bloody neck stump..so how?

adding on to the qn....what's the diff between lp standard and lp studio? is it the tone? then sound? and btw how big is the neck of the lp? isit fat?

I think the appoinments on the Studio are less... such as the lack of a maple top I think.

well, a les paul studio is slightly lighter than those of a standard, you notice the studios, classics, specials do not have flames on it... tone diff, p-90s mini humbuckers tend to be brighter...burst buckers, 496/500, 490/498 warmer...

I haven't seen mini buckers on a LP before yet... except for Pete Townshend's model.

how about a epiphone les paul standard with seymour duncan APII on both neck and brigde? I think the neck on epiphone should be thinner.

yes yes, the epiphone necks are much slimmer... they feel about the same as gibsons... they are slightly lighter than the originals... with a good swap of pickups, you could get a nice chuky tone...

the alnico pro ii is used by slash, so if u like his tone u may wanna get that. i suggest consulting gear guru subversion for advice too.

Ibanez if you're going to do some whammy work. They've got impressive trem systems.
