I got a problem

I like to sing. I love to sing. Most of the time in class I would be singing or humming and somehow distrupts the class(the sound not that loud lar but I sat in front row mah). Most of my friends told me that my voice is nice. Nice as in clear and can be easily heard with a sense of purity but then ar , got 1 guy don't like my voice cause he say my voice like girl(he's the lead vocalist in a band but band disbanded already after Teacher's Day). Anyway, I heard from others that his(the one who doesn't like my voice) singing is far worst than mine and I should've led the singing(not in band/anything cause I no guts). In the end he got replaced by the band drummer and he took the drum set(I laughed so hard sia). Everyone also happy cause his ego damn high.

In any case , is it good to produce a voice that send chill to your spine? Like a girl-angelic-voice when I try to squeeze my pelvic area there(you know lar ar)

i don't understand this part.

i have a friend who's from china. in sec school, he'd always sing every opportunity he's got. and he doesn't sing very well. all my friends (and his) said so too. but he's funny la. keep insisting that he can compete with some chinese singer, that guy la, this girl la. always made me laugh la that guy. the joke never grows old.

well it's all up to you la. if you like to sing like that, if its comfortable with you and the people around you, why not?

It's good if you want to sing it that way, it's your voice, no one has control over your choices with what you wanna do with it :}

Hahaha, somehow somewhat your story reminds me of mine when i was in secondary school..

Yo should just feel comfortable doing what you want to do.. at the end of the day, take comments/feedbacks into consideration.. The human vocal chords is a powerful tool and so is the ear.. to some people, you voice may be nice, to some it may be irritating whatsoever..

Just dont let people bring you down because of their comments and stuff like that..

Ouh and for the girly part.. hmm no comments because i dont do that..

I was once encouraged by my friend to pick up singing (which i already did) and it served me good.. Though now im venturing into more voice-threatening situations.. doing heavy/deathmetal vocals..

DO WHAT YOU WANT.. it's a good sign that people commented on your singing rather than NOT BEING NOTICED.. ahhaha atleast you know you're heard! HAVE fun and GOOD LUCK!

If you're satisfied with your voice then there's nothing you need to do. That doesn't mean you can't expand your voice and make it even better if you want to.

I confuse... did I just indirectly assaulted someone? Sorry if I did.

In any case, for those who don't know how about squeezing pelvic area just to get the high notes, here's an example of Righteous Brothers singing "Ah Beng Buay Loti" a.k.a. "Unchained Melody". Fast forward it to 1:00+. He did a pelvic thrust then "squeeze it" to get those high notes. Nice huh?
