Humbucker Coil Splitting mod

Has anyone tried to do this mod to their guitar? Sounds excellent as it gives a lot of tonal versatality to the guitar. For those who don't know this mod its as below:

A guitar has 2 humbuckers, 2 volume pots and 1 tone pot and 3 ways coil selector switch. The top pot is changed to a push pull pot. When the pot is pulled (lifted) the humbuckers are split to single coils and only 1 of the coils is selected. Then with the switch selector, you can select each coil or combination single coils. When the switch is pushed down, it is in normal mode with 2 humbuckers.

Tone knob Switch position Pick ups
UP (PULL) 1 Single coil Neck
UP (PULL) 2 Single coil Neck and Bridge
UP (PULL) 3 Single coil Bridge

Down (Push) 1 Humbucker Neck
Down (Push) 2 Humbucker Neck and Bridge
Down (Push) 3 Humbucker Bridge

well some humbeukers have the green red black and bare wires which means can do soil tap but if no green and red means cannot.not interested in coil tapping rather get a strat.has a better single-coil sound and also means you have 2 guitars to play with yay.

now u become teacher ah?

No Lah Uncle!!! Was just surfing and the idea of having strat like sound too from a HH guitar sounded cool...Was just checking if there were some geniuses who had already done that...

You already are a luthier man...whats your take on this stuff?

i think Slash thought of that before we all did , after all his Gibson Les Paul signature has single coil modes

Did it at Beez.. Can't really disclose the price..
Cause I changed ALL my electronics, set up, rewired a new set of pickups, and coil tap..
Nice mod man.. Only gripe is the volume drop, but that is inevitable cause it is expected..
And its not really "fenderish" sound.. Can't get the twang cause it's totally different wood..
Mahogony plus rosewood ain't the best for that..
But one thing is most certain; I love the tonal possibilities I can explore now!
Pickups I'm using = Mighty Mite Vintage Buckers..
Sweet vintage mojo with that stuff!
