as in you don't know how to connect it? or you don't know how to use it? most basic connection is guitar>wah>amp. as for using it, put your foot on the pedal and rock it forward and backfor the wahwah sound. to get an idea as to what it should sound like, listen to songs like surfing with the alien or love thing by joe satriani.

do remember that "click" it on first though.
theres loads of vids on youtube about wahs i figure, and do a google perhaps? also, listen to wah heavy songs.

basically when u rock the wah as u play, everybody gets the wah sound easily
but if u want to use it at a fine grain level, co-ordination and sometimes a quick press down or up is needed.
I once did a sweet child o mine demo on my website using a budwah. On the surface, it sounds the usual "wah" sound. But if u listen to slash's version carefully, his use of wah has many fine details which I couldn't duplicate.

haha kirk hammet has nice wah solos too. listen to metallica's first album, kill them all, and i regained my lost respect for the monkey-bearded face guitarist again...........

Just incorporate your Daytona/arcade driving game skills to a wah pedal. Same theory wan...step foward the wah to have a more aggressive (sharper) sound and ease the pedal for a more bassy/muffled sound :lol:
But seriously, it's more about the feel and observing how other artistes do it. Alots of things can be expressed with the wah pedal, try it with percussive playing, try it with chords, try it with hammer-ons/pull-offs, try it with bends, etc...try it on everything and you'll eventually find the sweet spots that sound best with whatever you're trying to express

Opening ur mouth while using the wah helps as well.
I kinda do it automatically ... and when i try not too, everything screws up.
It's a good idea to start practising the wah by tapping ur foot to keep in rythmn while you play.
ie. play the wah as if you are tapping ur foot as you play.
Once you've gotten used to that,
You can try out different patterns or as and when you want to ur liking.

? I always thought it was just a bad habit. But ya... steve vai does it so no harm trying it ya. x)
