How to transport an upright piano?

How do you folks transport pianos? I'm looking at moving a full sized upright piano. Measured the thing and it won't even fit in my HDB lift. Are there any companies that specialise in moving this sort of stuff? Do they dismantle the piano and reassemble it?

Carefully would be the key word here!

There is a company that specializes in shifting pianos. Its not cheap, but noone else will do it!

I suggest you do an online search and you should be able to find

Hi there, yeah u have to engage people to move your piano for you... and no, they don't put it in the lift... the strap it and carry it up the stairs... haha i live on the 10th floor of a hdb apartment.... i think its about 100 bucks or so to transport... hm u need a contact u PM me okay???

as for general, market rate is now $200
for every storey we go up charges you $30
if both sites are lift-leveled, its a flat rate of $200
no we dont carry it up with a strap,
we use a new method of putting "rollers" on the stairs and push it up while the upright is on the plank.
if there's a lift, they should be a way.
but usually hdbs are no problem..
coz if it cant fits hdb , we tilt it up.
but my charges are different

Don't do it yourself.

Me and two mates did and it nearly killed us. We tilted it to get it into the HDB lift which worked ok. We chipped the woodwork quite a bit but it didn't matter since the piano was cheeeeep. In case you haven't noticed, Pianos are HEAVY

How did they Get it up to your House?

you know, Moving pianos in singapore has ALWAYS been a mystrey to me.
