how to start playing gigs??

Very simple wan. Music not important. Image is. Just look at the bands these days. Its all about the image. Who cares if they sound like 20,000 other bands. So make sure your band got image, den sure can get gig one. Everywhere can play. At the market, secondary schools, pubs, clubs, shopping centres and everywhere lah. Just look good and make stupid music. And you'll see all the buaya record companies come kissing .

1. practice hard.
2. write a bio of your band.
3. record a demo.
4. compile the bio and the demo.
5. go see gigs and find out the organizers.
6. pass it to all the gig organizers.
i suppose roughly this is one of the more effective ways in short. you don't have to do all the steps in choronological order (although obviously some things have to be done before other steps.) u can do a search in this forum for more information about this topic.

Actually what matno say is quite true, or at least so from what ive seen so far in sg.
Of course, you must have the very basics of knowing how to play music.
A band that can play very well professionaly ( but image not so gd) may very well lose out to a band who can play ( basics) but image superb.

Hmm record a demo!! A good one of cos. And come back to this forum.. if i'm not wrong there's quite alot of gig organisers here.
After you record your demo, you might wanna post it up in the "open mic" area... introduce your band and state that you guys are lookin for gigs.
