Hey guys. Just got 2k to spend on a guitar. Any suggestions? I play almost everything. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

If you like the LP Custom cosmetics, do check out an Edwards E-LP-98LTC. It trumps the Epi LP because it has Seymour Duncan pickups, an Ebony board, a proper Mahogany body and maple cap (not the mahogany/alder combi in the epis).

S$2k to buy good guitar?

Hi
would you like to consider S$1800 for my Made in USA Gibson Les Paul Studio in white and gold hardware? Brand new..bought as part of a bigger collection as I am a collector who appreciate nice looking and quality stuff.
SMS 96609900 if you have any interest. It comes with the Gibson USA Hardcase.

bro......2k, can buy good guitar, yes.... but..... what do YOU like?. gimme an sms, i have lots of guitars on sale. im sure we could work something out.

wa! business stradegy sia!!!!!

Just get something that you're comfortable with, playing wise & feel. TRY before you buy.

2k is a very good budget...would recommend you get a ibanez super strat or a stratocastor for easy playability and variety of tones if you have no preferance/no idea of what you need.

with 2k you can even get a brand new Fender american strat from brendon and you still have $$$ left for efx. if you just starting out i would recommend getting a good multi efx such a the POD XT live or X3. after you know what effects you really need/use often you can consider to "upgrade" to analog stompbox efx...

damn i wish i had 2k

IF i ever got the money now, I would definitely buy it from you man. But it looks too pretty to even strum:).

Nice budget, anyway, what sorta music are you into? If you're into metal, that budget can get you a relatively high end Jackson/Dean. I know nuts about LPs because I don't like them, at all.

me too, what's so good about LP?
get yourself a decent guitar and spend the rest of the money on a good amp.
get some pedals or a multi efx.
and spend the remaining money getting a good teacher.
haha.

dude, it's personal preference and style of music. some people prefer the sound of a maple top slapped onto a mahogany body les paul. some people also like the feel of the fat 50s neck. the sound is really really nice although i won't get one cause of the neck...too chunky. i'm too used to fender necks.

same reason why i dislike most ibanez guitars, even though so many people rave about them. except some of the artcore, SA and SZ guitars.

well the lp has its plus points, but again, its not a necessity,
as for me, into superstrats haha, but with 2k, its better to invest in a good low end tube amp and maybe some multi effects/ pedals, and the remaining cash goes to the guitar, since you like lp shaped guitars, i suppose japanese copies such as burny tokai edwards are great stuff

Do you already have amps and effects? If no, you might want to invest in a good amp too. A good guitar won't sound good with a bad amp.

Save it first. Oh yes, seriously.

If you rush and buy something now that you don't really like, you'd going to be hit hard by pangs of vicious GAS when you see something you really like, and you've no money to spend on it anymore.

That's what happened to me. I thought I knew what I wanted, until I saw what I really wanted.

So, hold on to it! Try everything out, and don't just buy for the sake of buying!
