How to set-up guitar back for standard E tuning

Hi everyone,

Because my interest in low tunings has disappeared (and my tuner cannot tune to anything lower than D), I've decided to go back to standard E tuning (EADGBE). But I think going for a re-set-up just one day later is a bit ridiculous, so yeah.

So can anyone teach me how to set-up an Ibanez GSA60 currently set-up for standard D to standard E?

Its a non-locking synchronized floating tremolo, maple neck, gauge 10-46s if its relevant.. I play alt rock, hard rock, metal, and perhaps some other stuff as well related to blues and rock. So if you think I should stick to this tuning maybe you can advise me too.

10-46s is definitely okay for standard E tuning. if you never had your guitar set-up to specifically cater to drop tunings, then you dont have to do anything else to your guitar except to tune up.

Er I think I'd better leave raising the bridge to Mike @ SV... Scared my bridge pops out or literally flies...

Is it safe to just tune up?

generally, yes, as long as your string gauges are not very huge. 10s is definitely fine. what did you change that specifically catered to drop tune?

buy more guitars.so can cater to the different set-ups for different tuning.but im not saying buy the guitars now.maybe get 3 guitars in 2 years time?

Haha I took the easiest and cheapest solution: installed two high-tension springs, technically fixing the bridge. Now, its a hardtail bridge and I'm free to downtune to DGCFAD, DADGBE or EADGBE anytime I wish. I don't whammy at all so its not much of a loss to me.

Actually I'd limit myself to two electrics, so none will be neglected. For sure, my next guitar's gonna be have a hardtail bridge :)
