How To Reach High Notes

Hey guys. I am trying to train myself to reach the upper echelons of the notes. Any advice? My voice isn't that high though. Is there anyway to strain it?

Please don't strain your voice. There are many ways to reach high notes, in different tones. So depending on what kind of songs and how you want to portray them in, different techniques are used. It's too broad a topic to be covered in a forum topic and too much exclusive information to be revealed to the public. Get a vocal coach?

it means you are not yet strong enough physically to handle those kind of notes.
straining your voice doesn't help at all dude.it merely damages your voice box. if you have to strain then high pitched songs are not as yet your cup of tea. you need strength for those kind of notes.

Exclusive information eh? What would happen if this valuable information were revealed? Would too many people become great singers? :P

Here's a clue to hit high notes!

While singing high notes, try to imagine that the voice is projecting from your head. Try moving your eye brows upwards, focus to project your voice all the way up to your forehead. It should help ya to hit a few more notes higher than you normally could. By the way, while singing please try to smile? Basically it is to open up your jaws, the upper and lower parts so that the voice can project out clearly. Practice and practice, you'll be able to master it sooner or later. For now that's all, you'll need to get used to your own range first.

1) Look up to the sky
2) One hand holding the mic
3a) Project your voice upwards
b) At the same time use your free hand to squeeze them nuts, hard.

Steelheart ain't got nuthin' on you after that.

i saw this vid in which when you are hitting the note you squat a little and the note will go higher, and after a while you will be able to "think small" and be able to reach the high notes. well that's what it says dunno if it actually works

can i ask..like i am a male i sing female songs rite..need to down/up key...one key is how many semi tones ah?one or two?

well it really depends how much you want to lower it by, then sing it at the other key that you chose, but i think the easiest way is just to sing an octave lower, but that's just my opinion

The very simple one word answer is : PRACTICE
Practice obviously makes you better. But don't ever strain your voice, you're only going to damage it. Practice vocal scales and breathing techniques. Youtube has a lot of videos on these exercises, go search them.
