How to polish our cymbals?

drop lemon juice and rub it around the cymbal and remove the stick marks on the cymbals by rubbing the lemon on the cymbal...

wash with water before dropping lemon juice on it.. use shampoo on cymbal and dry clean.

marc... shampoo can use anti dandruff or not :D

i use clear anti dandruff with vita ace formula that help cleans the scalp from within.

new clear with vita ace.

hmm i heard the shampoo can condition also. make the cymbal shinier and smoother :P

haha btw for those who are wondering what the heck shampoo is for, its to neutralise the acidity of the lemon juice...

guys guys guys...
window cleaner. MAMA Lemon. don't use acidic stuff like lemon juice or vinegar or whatever.
ONE simple reason.
Acid - burns into the cymbal.
slowly but surely it'll mark the cymbal. but if you want to try, use the juice and leave it on for 10 seconds max and wash of.. wash in warm water also helps

My 18" HH chinese before and after polishing using the lime method. I bought it 2nd hand close to 2 years ago and have never cleaned it until now.

Noticeable shine and a lot of the dirt removed. It didn't clean away all of the stick marks, but the end result was already very good IMHO.

Last I checked today (after polishing it last Thursday), the cymbal still looks fine and the shine is still there.

I didn't use shampoo after rubbing with lime though. I used just a drop of dishwashing detergent mixed with water on a soft sponge. Foamed up the whole cymbal using the soft sponge.
