I have a recommendation for anyone with a similar question. Learn the music theory behind the construction of chords. By doing this, you can find any chord in any areea of the neck. Also, you can find inversions of these chords that will make your chordal playing a whole lot more interesting. This willl greatly help your songwriting skills as well.

I agree with Zack.

When it comes to figuring out chords knowing theory is extremely helpful. Once you understand how chords are built, you can figure out any chord with no problem. Also knowing the fretboard well helps a LOT.
