Excellent starting point. Gig organising can be very cleansing. It can make you from filthy rich to just rich

find people who organise gigs on this site and add them to msn. maybe email them you're gonna get chunks of info :wink: haha

nothing beats learning on the job. meaning find a volunteer position and start learning the ropes without emptying your wallet.

basically it takes some basic venue know-how (how to setup your p.a etc), make flyers (Get to know people who can, if you cant), performers etc

how to organise a gig..
1) get a friggin YELLOW PAGES
2) get a location
3) get equiptments
4) get the bands
5) publicise/expose the gig..

i suspect the next question will be.. "how do i contact bands?"
cmon.. this is 2006 not 1906 where snail mail is used..
