How To Get Old White Sgl Coil Pup Covers Looking New Again..

Was jus wondering if anyone has any suggestion how we can get our oxidised aged looking white single coil covers to looking spanking brand new white again...

have tot of using super fine 12000 grit mirco sand paper but donno if can be successful

any 1 with sucess / failure stories..? :smt100

well..
i tried naphta lene.. it'll brighten abit..but not as white as b4.. maybe u gotta use some strong cleaning solvent which will eat the dirt without eating the plastic..but replacement covers are cheap too.. a set wont cost you more than $15

Problem is that the pups I have are Virtual Vintage 2 - slihtly bigger than conventional pup covers - even among the Dimarzio range...

i've an idea for ur experiment but up to yoiu to try it out.... tak off the cover.. soak em in bleach.. wash n dry.. see if it whitens.. ..or colgate??

+1 haha i was just about to say the same thing. its so funny, people are going all out to age their covers, and others are trying to un-age them. maybe they should do a swap...

i had an old strat which I converted into an replica srv...REAL aged pup covers, knobs etc dun look like the "aged" replicas or mint green replicas man...

best way to aged them..leave yr guitar on stage in the club night after night

dude.. if im not wrong bleach will work pretty fine...

just leave em in a container for a day.. im sure it will be squeaky white.



it worked for my secondary school shoes... and uniforms..~~~

Have tried using Autosol (metal polish) on some 'aged' fender plastic parts successfully. Use with care though as it's corrosive.
