Hey all,

Hows it goin?

I recently got a yamaha MG10/2 Mixer.

Zero clue on the mixer connection.

I'm wondering on how to

1) connect the Mixer to my Line 6 UX2.
2) Connect my reference monitors

What is a typical setup when incorporating a mixer with a DAW like UX2?

The line 6 has the following jack ports:
Line inputs 2/R & 1/L
Footswitch 1 & 2
S/PDIF Digital Out (1)
Stereo Monitor In (1)
Analog Outs 2/R & 1/L

Appreciate any help and clear explanation on this!

Thanks so much!

Mixer > 1/4"jack output L and R > UX2's line input 1 and 2 , DAW pan left and right.

if no "1/4"jack output L and R" there should be RCA output ,then use a RCA > 1/4" jack adapter.

Hi! thanks for the guide.

Problem is, I'm not sure where is my mixer's out and all.

Probably need some mixer help as well.

I dont know where to connect plug in to and from mixer.

There's lotsa holes to plug in. way confusing.

I see return, send, aux, cr-out, st out, rec out, etc.

Appreciate your help!

I would like to connect my acoustic guitar, my electric piano and 2 vocals to the mixer.

My biggest concern now is, from the UX2 out, where in the mixer does it go in?

hmmm, the ux 2 can prolly accomodate what you wanna do, why is there a need for the mixer?

1) Acoustic geetar- if its an electro acoustic, you can connect it to the geetar input

2) electric piano- Output from it can go into LINE IN at the back of the ux 2

3) 2 vocal mic- to the 2 mic input of ux 2

the mixer usually is the first equipment in the chain where you connect all the instrument, before routing the output of the mixer to the ux 2(then to computer to record) like what what bro blue print mentioned.

Is there any reason why you wanna put the mixer after the ux 2?

HF Theory : do spend some time reading http://tinyurl.com/diyrecording . the only output that comes out from your UX2 should be a power source or USB cable into your pc/mac DAW.

the mixer is in case you wanna record more than 2 instruments or (input a.k.a drums) at once. and remember to hard pan Left and Right , on your DAW stereo recording.

to see which output is effective, set your DAW on monitoring the inputs of UX2, then with 1/4" jack cable plug in and test each and every output there is on the mixer and strum the guitar once or something to test. if the UX2 "hears" it, it's "recordable"
