how in the world do you get a 6kb picture to put in avatar??

my smallest picture looked like a dot on my screen

and it was still 28kb...

can anyone pls advise?

i use macromedia fireworks to resize the photos
of course u can use others like photoshop

remember to size it such that the image dimension is 80 x 80. can't go bigger than that.

just a sidenote, different picture file types have different sizes. eg, gif, jpeg, bmp, etc etc.

and resize is ok ... by height and width...
but no control over file size... thats the tricky bit...

i use photoshop CS. i guess it works with photoshop elements aswell.
you try saving the file as GIF, it is usually smaller in size than JPEF or TIFF.
give it a try, it should work...
