i just bought a 2nd hand hondo BASS

Old Jap model - probably late 80s early 90s .

P / J configuration.

Anyone with any info on these old basses.

for gawds sakes FGL! the HONDO brand/line of instruments were released in the 80's. they were the by product of hosono guitar works in japan. the budget line for ibanez-es.
only the rejected 10 piece sen, alder, maple bodies were sold as 'HONDO'.
remove the 'flawless' paintwork and see for yourself.

stewardbass - it's NOT plywood - I checked before buying but it's light, probably poplar or jelutong.

It's got a nice deep rounded tone though...

I'm selling it soon coz my CALLING has come to return to GUITAR!

Anyone interested?

guitarcare: praytell what shop are U reffering to ..

It looks a little beat up but was refurbished with new pups & electronics, has a nice slim neck with super low action & plays & sounds like a dream

It'd be like calling SRV's No 1 or Jaco's bass JUNK...

then again maybe U go for looks over substance..?

I got a Fernandes Revolver Bass made in the 80s in Japan also. It is a fantastic Axe. I will pass on your Gem. Thanks.

Ya, I am tempted but I also got Fender P Bass and J Bass. All this are squeezed in a small room so how to put some more stuff. Maybe I might want to sell some away. Keep a look out for lelong sale.

This Hondo bass is the ultimate for trashing - it's already beat up and seasoned ..so no worries about cosmetic ...

Good to have org Fender P & J basses but good to have a "bash around" instruments for practises, lowballer club gigs etc... No one wouldnt want to damaged the "prized guitars" in rowdy pubs / clubs...

Anyway looks like I have interested parties ...
