Hi pinkyouth

The Yamaha mixer has a USB connection right? I think that is what you should use to connect to your computer. You have to install the Cubase software.

What monitor are you using? If it is an active (built-in amplifier) You can connect your monitor(speakers) to the Monitor Output on your mixer.

All your instruments will be connected to the mixer individual input.

Your do not need to use the SoundBlaster anymore since the Yamaha will serve as the soundcard.

hi james.
can do recording via mixer and cubase ah?
then whats the difference between a mixer and a audio interface like presonus fp10?

owh...so i dont need the sound blaster anymore?do u mean like this...

instrument>yamaha mixer>computer...?

simple like this?but i've been told that using a usb to connect to computer is not that good than connect it through the soundcard..is that right??

but u guys awesome!!!

pinkyouth, you can try recording without/with going through the Soundblaster. Only you will be able to tell if one is better than the other.

* if you want to use the Soundblaster, simply connect the REC OUT from your mixer to the Soundblaster LINE IN.

I'm using a presonus FP10 with Cubase LE 4.0. I'm currently using it to record only drums. I've had quite a few problems in the begging but settled now. The FP10 is a firewire interface. Let me know what problems are you faciing with drums. Maybe I could help you with that:)

Cubase Le 4.0 comes free with presonus FP10. Registering and getting it working is a wee bit troublesome
