HOME Salad presents The Source
Don’t dance, listen!
Love music? Want to explore?
Let’s go back, way back.
Before EDM, before Electro, before House, back to a time, place and sound that was the genesis of all that the dance floor is today, New York in the 1970s.
Take a trip to the center of it all, from where it sprang, at its center you will find a heady mix of Disco, Latin, Jazz, Soul and Funk Music, all rolled together.
Get back to the center of it all, get back to The Source.
Cut loose, grab a drink, sink back onto the couch with some friends and get back to music as Klanx spins the best of the best, inspired by legendary dance floors like The Loft and The Paradise Garage and DJs like David Manusco, Nicky Siano and the master himself, Larry Levan, the blueprints for what DJing and clubbing is today.
Each month we will showcase different aspects of the music, from the gritty working class soul of Motown and Brunswick played out 3 minute slabs of ecstasy through the Psychedelic funk of George Clinton and Parliament taking you to the Mothership, or the early breakin and scratching of seminal hip hopers like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 and the Sugarhill Gang.
Get back, get down and get into THE SOURCE!
