hi... was wanting to find out more about semi-hollow archtops... eg, guitars like
the dot,
sheraton,
es355 styled guitars... as most of the topics on soft do not really talk much about these.
http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=2&CollectionID=1
http://www.gibson.com/Products/GibsonElectric/Semi-hollow Body/
i've tried a friend's epiphone MIK copy before, (not really sure what model is it) but it sounds really solid, with nice acoustic sounds and overdriven tones...
they do seem to make very good old school rock/ or just hard rock sounds from chords and crunchy rock/blues solos. (when overdriven)
wondering if there are any brands to look out for, besides epiphone and gibson.. and where are the places to try them... semi hollows do seem a bit trickier then buying your normal guitar at a shop nearby... gibsons are ex, i'm looking at a price range of 1k.. (plus minus) reason?
also would appreciate info on guitars with f holes in them, like thinline teles, eg... and their respective brands.
thanks everyone 8)
