Alright, i'm hunting down a new pedal again and will need u softies to help me. I'm looking for a high gain pedal that doesn't mud out. Has to have a tight bottom end and do like 80/90s rock, good gain(to cover up my playing), and alot of mojo.

If i'd to list some bands: Van Halen, Extreme, GnR, Mr Big

These are some pedals i've came across while doing a forum search:
Wampler Pinnacle 2
Wampler Plextortion
Goosonique Seventheaven
BSIAB
CMATMOD Brownie
Crunchbox(used to own it but found it pretty muddy)
BOR(Currently using it, not enough gain on tap)

I would really appreciate all your comments!

you'd do better with a combo attack- your amp's distortion + a drive pedal. i find this pairing to be more effective upon requiring clarity.

subversion, you're talking about a good tube distortion right? What if i belong to the group of dudes who plays clean amps? Lol it has been that way for most of us i think. Since we cant afford to have big amps at home

I do have a small tube amp, fender pro junior

no- regardless of what amps you own, i'm not appealing or promoting tube supremacy in any way. i get clarity from my small Marshall amp + distortion pedal, nothing fancy:

to many of us, tonal satisfaction equals tube tone- not true. good tones are good tones, regardless of whatever amp types you use to achieve just that.

If you're looking into boutique pedals, I recommend a G2 Distortion pedal, I tried my friends one, and it sounded legend----ary:cool:

But of course amp settings play a part too, some like to dial the bass down and raise the treble, but some prefer the other way.

You can listen to some demos at http://www.wix.com/pedalholics/Pedal-holics
Good luck~

Side track: G2 users, do you find the pedal muddy? I do. I like the tones definitely. But needs some EQ-ing work.

Hey!

I really recommend the BSIAB II. Cheap and affordable, and soundwise, it is comparable to bigger budget pedals like crunchbox, pinnacle, bor or liquid sunshine.

Look over other forums like tgp, diystompboxes or freestompbox, some forumites there even claim that the bor, pinnacle, and liquid sunshine are based on the BSIAB II. Well, I cannot verify for the bor and the liquid sunshine, but I can verify that the pinnacle is 70-80% similar to the BSIAB II from input to the tone stack stage! So it will appear that you can get semblance of the pinaccle in the BSIAB II at a fraction of the price.

On top of that, what can be more fun than building your own pedal? Well, the designs are not yours, but still, building your pedal like lego is sure great fun.

Oh, there are tons of mod out there for the BSIAB II, which you can mix and match to your liking. I have built mine since last September, and is loving it. And it has curb my GAS urges ever since.

Don't look back..

The Wampler Pinnacle is not bad but get the limited reissue (meaning the old one with footswitchable boost).
Goosonique Seventheaven also not that bad.. But IMO pricey, if you can afford it, then by all means give it a try..
BSIAB II is a really really cheap and good pedal..
Brownie not so sure about this..

As for the suggestion of a rat, rats are better used pushing a tube amp..
If you're really at a low budget, then this will do:

I ran the G-2 through a 6' speaker initially and it sounded muddy. Upon testing with larger speakers, the problem is solved. Perhaps, it is an issue with the small speakers that is unable to handle the pedal as well as it should it be.

For TS, you can contact Dennis at http://www.wix.com/pedalholics/Pedal-holics. The price is listed there. Got to give this man a thumbs up. :)

BSIAB II is about S$100 inclusive of shipping. When I bought mine some time back, there were having discounts and the USD exchange rate was like 1.39 or something, so I got is at less than S$90. You can purchase it first hand at generalguitargadget.com

Pinnacle is good. Mine was the single footswitch version. Boost was forever on, to provide the saturation, flick and forget! If you want versatility by all means look for the two switch version, allows for punching in solos.

I just sold mine for... heh heh...

I haven't tried the BSIAB II, but it certainly looks appealing.
