hi any keyboardist using korg x50

Hi there, Perhaps you can read the manual.. and post specific questions? But lemme help by starting to introducing program mode and combi mode

1) Program mode is like a single voice mode where you play only 1 voice.

2) Combi mode is like a multi voice mode where you can combine many voices into 1 patch and layer them accordingly. Combi also allows you to adjust the key zones so you can create keyboard splits and zones etc.

Hi utano

Thank for the infomation. Seriously manual i can't understand. I just a player dun know how to use the function well. But how to do layering ? And also what you mean by key zone ? Lastly i would like to check with you that how to function a footswitch when you want to change to other sound by using footswitch.

if i assume the x 50 to has the same global setting in the triton le, then

1. get the footswitch pedal.( i assume u have liao.? i never tried it with the sustain not sure if it works..i am using a footswitch ..)
2.plug it into the switch hole behind( on in front.?:P) of yr board..i tink its "sw"if i rem correctly...

i tink u can go to global and go to the footswitch tab...and scroll to the function till u see program up or down..while scrolling....u will realise that the footswitch can do alota other cool stuff too...i use it to start my sequence so i dun have to lift my fingers to press play while i want a sequence to run in the middle of a song when my hands are full on my combis in sequencer mode...the audience will start looking at the sound man to see if he is playing some cd...hahah

the problem is the patch change function works along the patch numbers...i.e...0 is fast synth 1 is keyboard 2 is organ etc...maybe not be that convenient after all unless u customised and overwite yr patches to wat u want in numbers order...have to try to know what i mean.

Hey Rasen,

X50 is a really neat keyboard but it really takes time to get used to the functions. just experiment with it. the manual helps alot too. there are specific instructions provided in the manual if you want to do layering or if you want to split the keyboard. do try following the instructions. you'll get the hang of it but it may take some time.
