Hey im new and need some help...

I agree with Dscythe.

I don't think there's a rush for you to get the room setup. So might as well slowly save to get the better equipment.

Mesa Boogies sound gd hahaha...

If you wanna buy cymbals, you can either get 2nd hand from some softies here... OR u can jus go to Swee Lee and get those pack cymbal sets... you can get like a set of hats, a crash and a ride for like less than $1000. If i'm not wrong, Swee Lee has Sabian Xs20s for abt that price.

The Xs20s are kinda like the more decent mid-range cymbals. Good for just practising la, if u ask me.

Or if you're more into Zildjians, then u can try Yamaha.
For Paistes and Meinls, you can try Ranking Sports @ Bras Basah Complex.
For Istanbuls, go to Nigel at Drum Resources.
For Bosphorus and Wu-Han, u can go to Accent Music at Clementi area.

Alright, that's all from me. Do invite me over when you've setup the studio... hahahaha... just kidding.

thanks guys =)

How does the RG1520GK offering by Ibanez fare?

I will be playing bass often for the church from now... So I'm considering indulging myself a little with a good one. My current borrowed one ain't slappy enough and I've seen the magic performed with a stingray. I really hope ishibashi isn't the cheapest place to get one. Will vposting it from USA cost even more ?

Where do SOFTies usually get their MMs?

the best option to bring in from US would definitely be someone on a trip there. i know of someone who scored a USD400 fender P-bass.

ishibashi has very decent prices indeed. vposting im not too sure though.

hm i have a marshall VS265 valvestate im looking to let go. similar to the one jupzones was selling about a week ago. its pretty sweet. pm me if you're interested :lol:

@markedymark

thanks. I went over to mucisiansfriend.com and i think i can get a MM Stingray in for around $2.3k. Is it worth it ?

@kalibre
Thanks will think about it.

However, ive been looking at Line 6 amps
how are these offerings?
3) Line 6 LowDown LD300 Pro Combo Bass Amp $888
4)Line 6 Spider III HD75 Half-Stack $372 (amp head) + $444 (cab)= $816

Line 6 amps seem to be quite innovative. How's the quality?

Hmmmm...........i'm no bassist but i wld think that instead of th Spider III head and cab, try to get a Spider II instead. They sound abt the same, jus some changes here and there. U can ask CityMusic, i think they're still selling the last few Spider IIs for really gd prices. As for the LD300, yes it wld prob suit ur needs to a T. Its 300W right? If u nd 2 play over a loud drummer, ur entire is prob gonna loud. So u'd need at least a 150W bass amp? 4give me if i'm wrong. But yup, go check out stuff and decide wat's best 4 ur money.

I might learn the drums proper soon, and the Pearl Forum standard 5 piece set seems rather nice, but then again I would have to invest in cymbals and have someone experienced tune for me... Might be a problem for a newbie like me to get a new drum set!

Actually dude, you could invest in cymbals slowly, since you're starting out. try getting hold of 2nd hand cymbals and stands since its just for practise....believe it or not, they are around :lol: and slowly as u learn, invest in better equipment.

got my pearl forum when i just started out too....though its rusty and worn now, still kicks ass. 8) yeah, just get something to start out with, later build on it, or get a new kit altogether if the interest in drums persists. even a cheap ass kit could sound good as u work on it, and the longer u have it, the better u'll know how to work with it. of course shells do play a role in the overall sound, but that comes later :)

i'm starting to save for DWs....gaaaahhhh!!!! :lol:
