Sylar just wants the brain...I think the exploding man in the picture could be Sylar...'coz he has too many powers in him, he can't control them, like in Peter's dream. Only that in the dream, Peter was the exploding man.

but in season 1, Peter had a dream that he is one who is accumulating too much power and exploding - the scene whereby the road is filled with cars but no one was there and u see all the heroes running away from him..
